JULIE IRISH
Candidate for Newton City Council, Ward 5
Common ground for the common good.
For over 25 years, my family has proudly called Newton Upper Falls home. I’m a longtime volunteer, dedicated community leader, and currently serve as President of the Upper Falls Area Council. I believe local government works best when it’s accessible, transparent, and truly includes the voices of the people it serves.
As President of the Upper Falls Area Council and a dedicated member since 2015, I’ve worked closely with both neighbors and city officials to tackle real issues and deliver results. Acting as a bridge between the community and City Hall, I’ve helped navigate challenges across multiple departments. I’m ready to put that experience to work for Ward 5—getting things done that truly make a difference for our residents.
As a City Councilor, I will be approachable, collaborative, and committed to listening. I’m running to make local government more accessible, responsive, and inclusive—because real change begins with our common ground - and leads to our common good.
Let's do this together!
